Promat High Performance Insulation (HPI) is the new Business Unit within the Promat organization that focuses its activity on the design and manufacturing of innovative products. These products can be applied singularly or combined together in cost effective, energy efficient and state-of-the-art thermal management solutions in a wide variety of markets and applications.

In 2010 and 2011 our client “Ovenbouw Holland” realized a nice HPI-project at Arcelor Mittal’s in Bremen. Two walking beam furnaces in this steel plant have been completely renovated. These renovated furnaces are used to heat slabs to a roll temperature of nearly 1350°C. These furnaces are 38 m long, 16 m wide and 6 m high.

On Friday, April 29th 2011 Promat made history again. After several months of intense preparation, the time had come for the official inauguration of the 5^th production line. This 20 million € investment was a new milestone in a consequent investment policy.

A 5^th production line has been put into operation recently in the Promat International NV factory in Tisselt. With this new production line Promat wants to meet the increasing demand of products such as PROMATECT®-L, PROMATECT®-L500 and PROMATECT®-L300. These products are produced by means of the “filter press” technology and still contain a lot of water after having being moulded. Therefore the drying process is very important.

In order to allow this drying process to run in a controlled and homogeneous way and in order to save energy, the dryer has been insulated with PROMATHERM® composite elements.

Promat International NV, a subsidiary of the Belgian Etex Group, acquired all the shares of Microtherm Engineered Solutions NV. The sale includes all the subsidiaries of Microtherm in Belgium, UK, Japan and USA.
